This Co. is a Chilean band that combines Post-Punk and New Wave into a hybrid between rock and electronic. Thanks to its particular sound and meticulously designed stage show it creates an intense experience.
The band was formed initially under the name Macanudo as a duel of guitars and electronic bases by Jorge Christie and Nicolás Rebolledo (Chileno Medio). With the incorporation of Carlos Vergara (Federación de Boxeo, Crack) on the bass, the band began to call themselves This Co. and to consolidate, with new songs and a more mature sound, that which had already been started.

We and #8217;re back bunnies!!
Been hibernating like an exhausted caterpillar, now we and #8217;re back, the giddy butterfly has spruced up it and #8217;s wings. Looks good, right? And sounds even better, two new releases, one by a face well-known (at least the sound of that face is) and one new and #8230;. Never worry. We are with you. Always. big promise from little weirdos.

--- [WaW029.1] The White Noise Organization and #8211; Mort de Rire EP

Like a ride on a little panorama-train around a small lake in the middle of the montains. The melancholic conductor takes out his little organ, and it and #8217;s reverbed sounds float out over the lake, being thrown back by the rockywalls, and on goes the short, bumpy journey, cushioned by soft distortion, until you get off board. Then you will stand in the surreal remainders of the echoing sounds, watching the conductor going around the lake forever and ever. Or maybe closing-time.

--- [WaW029.2] Joris J and #8211; Fresco, Focal, Fratricide

Empty your brain before listening. Because Joris J will fill it to the brim anyway, engaging storyteller and teacher, that he is. Though not of the warm, fuzzy kind with silly hats and beards. This sound is all about precision. Listening to this equals maybe watching a construction-site in the future, each abstract sound growing like bacteria-cultures in a petri-dish under the miscroscope into a new and #8222;whole and #8220;. There is something going on. You need to listen carefully, to know, what.
Thank you, massju

Kerim Safa - Subdermal

We use words to get in contact with people to explain what we think. But thoughts are abstract. We narrow them by using daily language to make everyone understand. If we were able to use pure thoughts (not words) to communicate, there would be a vague and chaotic communication process from the viewpoint of the "daily language user". But on the other hand, there would have been a wider and sincere communication experience for the two sides of this uncommon conversation.

Kerim Safa is an audio/visual artist from Istanbul, Turkey. He was born in Izmir on 1985 and after 4 years of fine arts faculty (on printing design) experience in his hometown, he moved to Istanbul. In 2007, he started studying music at Istanbul Bilgi University with full scholarship. After playing and recording with some bands, he decided to release his own material as an ep. He is still living, playing and continiuing his education in Istanbul.

The Rick Jensen Quartet - Night Shelter

Night Shelter was the last recording I made before leaving New Zealand, it was also the first (and so far only) studio recording by The Rick Jensen Ensemble.
It was recorded in early 2006 at James Gilberd's Photospace Gallery by Blair Wootton with his portable studio set up. It is also the last recording of mine from New Zealand to have never been released before. The band at the time had never played as a quartet before, James had been playing drums for me for a year or two, Sam had been playing bass on and off with the Trio for a couple of years, he had been in Korea for a year prior to this which is When Nigel had joined in playing bass and keyboards. The studio approach resulted in a very different sound to what we would normally do, shorter pieces, more jazzy and more room to try unusual things. I do think its still a good album, and marks a brginning and end in the history of this group.

Vicnet - Mr. Hadopi

You can't judge a book by its cover. While Vicnet seems to mock future victims of the new Hadopi 2.0 law by welcoming with glee the Sarkozy government's initiative with his second album Mr. Hadopi, this album is more of a cry against an ubiquitous hypocrisy and a vibrant ode to free culture. Penniless and starving from long months of finicky work in the cold on this free album, he limited his desires-and eating habits- to the bare minimum, and changed his methods to create a purer music, less digital and warmer: a technoid and monstrously funky pump, lively and hyperactive. While you could consider it a maturity album, to Vicnet, it is more of a rejuvenation: he describes his productions for the label Da! Heard It Records as an "old man's music for young people".
Fresh Poulp : Octopus 3 is Out !

To celebrate this new year and Fresh Poulp and #8217;s 5 years of musical delight, here comes the third version of our and #8220;Octopus and #8221; compilations : and #8220;O3 and #8220;. As usual we and #8217;ve released a double LP, but this time only featuring guest artists, drawing a sketch of what Fresh Poulp will be in a close future! New orientations begin to appear, like minimalist musical objects or deep ambient sounds, even if the label keeps and will keep its well known eclectic trademark !
Let and #8217;s have a quick overview of some of the many guest featured here ! Padawin is an electronic duet and label friend that will release its first album on FPR later this year, as well as Bankari, that may present an EP. You all know the international orientation of our label, however this album focuses mainly on french artists, some of them are confirmed, like rap-band Da Krew or dub warriors from OnDubGround, who also provided their science of mixing for the compilation.
But you and #8217;ll also find some electronic rising artists like Life in A Box (who just released his first LP on Concrete Curving), D-Drône, Kat Gogolevitch or Para, guilty of a wonderful album last year on AQuietBump !
It would take too long to talk about all these artists, even if they deserve it, but there and #8217;s some great human connections we and #8217;d like to share! Like meeting Komak and his truck in the french moutain, sharing some strange dutch liquor. Or Elkhor, met in a field a few years ago in french coutryside ! Again a testimony that Fresh Poulp is made of human link !
