Deconstruction is an approach. It is characterized by ideas of manipulating of structure`s elements. In this process one ore several elements of the structure can be distorted or dislocated. The finished structure is characterized by a stimulating unpredictability and a controlled chaos. -Kvitnu

Kahvi#295: Trx / Distant Happiness EP
Sun | Sep 5, 2010
You may recognise the name Trx after he appeared on a previous release as a remix artist. I heard from Trx soon after this release saying he had an EP in a similar style to the remix, and being hugely impressed by that, I gave it a listen.
The resulting release is four tracks of some truly interesting and enlightening sounds, inspired by other Kahvi regulars like Mikael Fyrek and Planet Boelex. Complex and intricate, with small, hidden, timbres, this EP is one to give you a short but sweet break from the harsh pace of life.
Tracks of choice: The subtle and delicate 'bells' and the epic and inspirational 'insomnia keeps the nightmares away'. Welcome Trx once again to Kahvi, and lets hope to hear from him again in the future -4T
(AE038)Plastic Loopz - Inner Fear
Fri | Sep 3, 2010
Szabolcs (Plastic Loopz)'s latest release was under the alias Blue Awakening. Now he returns to his roots and showing his real sound, giving us a nice pumping. Inner Fear has fresh sounds and keeps that level what opening Seppuku reaches. Interesting and complex piece is that Seppuku. Rage, the next track is a real party track with slapping basses and sharp hihats, we hope that it will be played often in your sets and podcasts. The main track, Inner Fear is an offbeat piece, aligned to the original ars poetica of the label. 2 Remixes for closing: first is the remix of Inner Fear by Balatro, and the second is Balatro's Demon Arrived (from the release 'Quoz' - this is one of the most loved release of Audioexit) by Plastic Loopz. -Audioexit Records

Art Project “?!” – Sespliting [HAZE 122]
Sun | Aug 29, 2010
The name of the project consists of two symbols, they are question and exclamation marks “?!”.
The conception of such an extraordinary name can be explained in various ways. It can be a question and an answer, excitement and calmness, doubts and confidence, uncertainty and fundamental truth, search and enlightenment. But these marks are well-known and understandable all over the world. The project was created in 2009 and, to be more exact, it is an art-project. -haze

[FbL006] landrecorder - morning-afternoon
Tue | Aug 24, 2010
Landrecorder announces the importance of framing in his technique at the album's outset, when "Morning" begins with an acoustic guitar part on repeat, as if a needle has been set down more than once at the same place on an old piece of vinyl. A similar sense of nostalgia is infused in all three tracks, from the mournful harmonica on "Morning" to the distant chatter of children on "Afternoon," to the way the sound of a car driving past brings "Evening" (and, hence, the full set) to a close. This compositional technique mirrors the process of memory, things combined in unlikely combinations, and in unlikely proportions: sometimes warped, sometimes laid bare. And both approaches, in Landrecorder's hands, lead to tantalizing results.

Kahvi#294: Frederick Behr / Glass Marble
Sun | Aug 22, 2010
An interesting release arrives at #294 from guest artist 'Frederik Behr'. Glass Marble is interesting in the way that there is several different styles apparent throughout the 39 minutes playing time, but instead of different styles in different tracks, different styles are combined.
Starting off with a subtle (but seriously addictive) piano melody in the 'Alleyways' which you'll find yourself remembering for days and kicking it into the electronic age with a powerful bassline, the scene is set for the rest of the ep.
Ambient warmth appears in 'Wooden Marble' which leads onto an even more curious track 'Heart Valve' - if imitation is a sincere form of flattery then this is probably the closest I've ever heard of a tribute to 'Bad Loop' by another artist. If you're familiar with the artist that created Kahvi classic 'Lumme' you'll recognise this style immediately.
Tracks of choice in this ep: all, but 80's crush (track 5) has one of the meatiest basslines I've heard in a long while. Definately one for the high volume! -4T

Ixtlan strikes again!
Sun | Aug 8, 2010
We are very proud to present the new album from the legendary band IXTLAN, from Getinge, Sweden. IXTLAN have been with us from the very beginning and are one of the cornerstones in the 23 seconds collective. Their impact and influence on us can never be underestimated.
The new album PUNJAB NIGHT VISION is, as usual, a classy journey through all genres of cool music. Funk, electropop, industrial, blues, trance, krautrock, hip-hop, ambient, etc. etc...Always with a mind-bent psychedelic twist and a blink with the eye. And with the classic line-up BO GREEN/KENT HOLM still intact.
After four brilliant albums and one DVD in their back-catalougue they now release their strongest release so far. An absolute masterpiece. To say the least. Enjoy! -23 Seconds Netlabel

[tonAtom.111] dreamlogicc-the singularity
Fri | Aug 6, 2010
the second solo release by dreamlogicc on tonAtom. ten tracks like taken from a diary, written with various hardware devices, jotted down on a four-track tape recorder and edited on a pc.
his style has evolved and slightly changed but is still on the dividing line between ambient, drum-and-bass and techno.
on first sight there is still that live improvisation appeal, but don't let yourself be misled. -tonAtom

[mfm10] Sister Overdrive - Retroversion
Mon | Jul 26, 2010
Sister Overdrive is a neo-romanticist in Athens city. Each piece of Retroversion consists of minimalist melodies layered on top of each other, like dreams for the future, formed gradually from hopes and ambitions, and syncopated, rasping rhythms, which remind me of how the dreams of people are crushed by other people in a colorless urban background. And how they are made again. -memoryformat
Kahvi#293: Drafts on a theme / Rush EP
Mon | Jul 26, 2010
Time to show the skills of a new artist this time around on Kahvi. Drafts on a theme is one of the few UK artists that appear on Kahvi.
With his own mix of 'lounge vs electronic' work, his style is one of the familiar - yet, there are elements brought into the tracks that make them fresh and sparkling.
We've got the good, solid beats of 'don't be so picky' to the more surreal '74', and then the sublime Cloudnine airship which definately has some element of Boards of Canada in there somewhere.
An interesting, thoughtful and definately listenable premier for Drafts on a theme. Too many tracks to recommend in this release, but for some great ambience give 'Eno Tribute' a listen. Enjoy -4T

(AE037)The Bee - Go To The Playground
Thu | Jul 22, 2010
Hungarian The Bee comes with fresh sound this year, 4 tracks of Go To The Playground is more developed than his last release, AeTech004, showing that Bee is moving forward with the actual styles. 'Blues Company' is a modern techno piece (with crazy cello sampling), written for the dancefloors, isn't it? 2nd track 'Minifunk' is more minimal-electro like, but it comes to an end with hard, industrial noises, nice backround sounds. 'Slow Tech Fusion' is varied but mellow work. The closing 'Travelling' is a good piece for this summer, organic like a coctail, cool like the ice in it. -Audioexit Records
